Background

Dr Emma Hare is the Head of Research Excellence within ¹û½´ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø's Research and Innovation Office. She leads the Research Excellence Team, which delivers the University's professional research support function including pre-award support and post award management, supports relationships with public sector funding agencies, manages the university's knowledge exchange support function and ensures the co-ordination of Cranfield's Research Excellence Framework 2021 submission.

Emma joined ¹û½´ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø in July 2019 from Queen Mary University of London, where she held the post of Head of Research Strategy and Policy and Executive Officer to the Vice-Principal for Research (2014-2019). Prior to that, Emma held a number of successive roles overseeing the undergraduate, postgraduate and research services support functions within the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences at Queen Mary.

She holds a degree in Zoology and a PhD in Biological Sciences from Queen Mary University of London and worked as a researcher with the conservation organisations MammalsTrust UK and the European Squirrel Initiative prior to undertaking her PhD.
